Experienced property valuation attorneys
Attorneys Michael Cacace and Ron Kowalski are Affiliate Members of the Connecticut Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Both are personally familiar with a number of appraisers, most of whom have the MAI designation, whose practices collectively cover the entire state of Connecticut. Our knowledge of Connecticut's appraisal community arms us with a network of highly qualified experts to call upon when a property valuation case arises. Additionally, attorneys Cacace and Kowalski lecture on valuation topics for the Connecticut Bar Association and other groups, and have authored articles on revaluation issues for the Tax Section of the Connecticut Bar Association, the New England Real Estate Journal, and other publications. Both serve as Special Masters for Tax Appeals in the Superior Court for the Judicial District of Stamford/Norwalk.
Cacace, Tusch & Santagata has had an active property valuation practice for many years. Our attorneys regularly advise clients on issues related to property taxes and appear before local boards of assessment appeals, as well as Connecticut courts, to handle the following matters:
- Tax appeals
- Tax valuation
- Condemnation
- Foreclosures
- Commercial lease litigation
- Eminent domain
- House values
- Estate valuation
- Commercial determination of fair market values
- Property taxes
- Personal property tax audits
- Business valuation
The vast majority of our valuation cases are resolved by way of settlement prior to judgment. However, we vigorously try cases to conclusion when that is necessary to pursue our clients' best interests.
Regardless of the context in which your property valuation issue arises, in order to achieve the most favorable result, it must be evaluated and handled by counsel with a thorough knowledge of the legal and valuation grounds that relate to the particular facts of your situation.
